It's something that literally everyone can practice that isn't restricted to any particular culture(though some probably lean into it a bit more than others), you don't need to take any drugs(though I suspect there are certain combinations of substances that are favorably conducive to mental-manifest-realities), anyone can pick up the 'hobby' anytime, anywhere, completely free.
