The best 'future' designs are ones that simply improve upon pre-existing ideas. Pic rel, Akira tank. Just seems like an improved derivative of the K1 or similar.
Most movies/games/sloppa just go too far when trying to portray otherwise mostly conventional forces as 'futuristic' and different.
