to add to the points i made earlier, people only recently started traveling long distances. most people in the recent past wouldnt travel maybe 10 miles throughout their lives from where they were born. so maybe that is a contributing factor as well. it certainly isnt out of neccesity, and if it is, its not apparent to me as to the reason why.
