It depends on the time period, but generally peasants in Europe before more modern times were a good bit shorter than us now. I can imagine their height might have been a bit of a... tall tale B^) too.
Also I definitely have no real complaints about him still being so energetic. He does really help lighten up the day. I imagine if sphinxs get scratched it's an issue with how long it'd take to heal. Humans are like that too, actually. From what I remember hair follicles contain a good deal of stem cells for your skin and since our skin isn't as dense as most other mammals we actually take a good deal longer to heal from cuts.
>they kinda "honk"
That is cute, the last cat I had mostly just trilled. He also really loved feet, my feet in particular. He'd glob onto my foot and full body cuddle it, purr and rub her face on it. Then he'd fucking bite me B'^). He was a goofy cat, loved to just stare outside of the window and he'd hallucinate things being there since you'd see his head dart to look at a spot where nothing was there. He had to be in the bathroom with me when I showered too, he didn't want to be alone.
If I get a cat again, it'll definitely be an oriental shorthair though.
