Yanagi is still worth it without Yui, most highscore teams dont use tthat combo because its more for speedrunning.

Also Yanagi is part of the series of characters that have what are called solo activation buffs, they last a set turn duration and dont stack with anything else including themselves. That why it costs 18(+2) which is the same as Tama casting her buffs twice. So you really arent spending that much more.

Later in the game is also just a bunch of free SP skills/passive so even having higher costing SP skills isnt that big of a deal. For example Diva Ruka gives 2 SP to the vanguard if shes in Diva state.

Then theres the ease of getting into OD2-3 for even more SP.
