I mean in terms of being grounded in real world occultism like reiki, king enma or general spiritualism tropes. I mean I know it never really gets dropped but the early episodes are fun because of these elements but once they get up to late dragonball power levels it just isn't the same z

I love the DT arc for being DBZ but better and Chapter Black for it's exploration of nihilism/misanthropy but I will always bemoan the series move away from anime scooby doo adventures.

Also the soundtrack really sells everything. I hate the art shift in later episodes it just lacks the same soul
