>sadism
That was just some dude named Marques de Sade that was into sex that was "wrong" in my simplification on it. Happened around a time in history of french revolution, and newtonian physics. People were affected by the realization there are laws that govern life instead of just daily acts of God. Led to disillusionment with religion some argue. Often hear people equate sadism with satanism and it seems to be a "modern" puritan thing. Often they dont know sadism has anything to do the person that popularized a type of sexual behavior. He didnt have any interest in Satan or the occult, or maybe he did? He was just "if it feels good then do it" impulsive animalist behavior. I havent read a lot of his writtings but read a book about him and the era.
