I'm a pleb and the only FFs I've played are XII, XIII, XIV, XV, XVI and VII remake and rebirth. The only one I finished was VII Remake (though I think I got to the final boss of XIII).

So I probably shouldn't watch IX. I'll go play something and eat instead then, since it'll be 3pm - 7pm my time.
