Amphoreus could have worked if it had some horror-like elements, like really fucked up shit randomly happening and being ignored by everyone else due to it being simulated, it would have added flavor and uniqueness trough the mandatory filler parts. Instead the only thing that comes from the planet's big reveal are some dumb visual glitches and the fact that everything is irrelevant and everybody besides Phainon is fake.
