Are you saying they've used a different polymer all together? When I took mine apart for a second cleaning I noticed these little tabs on the inside had snapped off, right where it mates up to the receiver. As far as I can tell they are just part of the molding process and maybe help index the forend a tiny bit, but I was pretty disgusted at how easily they snapped.

I was hoping someone made a good aluminum forend, I know they have them for the Beniselli's.
