The truth photos are from Basil's perspective, you see him in the glass door's reflection in case you didn't get that. They're literally held in a photo album that in both Faraway and Headspace was titled Basil's Memories. The photos show Basil hanging Mari. The night you confront Basil, he says "I'll save you again." Stranger in Black Space says "Back then... I wanted to save what was left." The Basil right before the truth segment asks Sunny to please forgive him if he can. And the Basil on Memory Lane says he seems to burden Sunny, even back then. What more do you need?
