Can't remember where I read it, or if it's even actually canon, but I recall the point being made that the more mishmashed a fusion/jogress looks, the less compatible the parts actually are. Of course, the show did nothing with this and in practice the more kit-bashed fusions tend to be the more powerful ones (usually because they also have popularity power), but it would've been neat to have the show dig more into that, especially since Iori was very self conscious and meta about how he and Takeru were the only pairing left.
