To put things into perspective, between the release of The Batman (March 4, 2022) and the current planned release of The Batman: Part II (October 1, 2027), James Gunn would have released the following projects, all of which he wrote entirely and produced, and most of which he also directed (the exception being some episodes of Peacemaker and all episodes of Creature Commandos):

>Three movies - Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Superman, Man of Tomorrow
>One television special - The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special
>At least two (possibly more) seasons of television - Creature Commandos Season 1, Peacemaker Season 2

He would also have produced:

>At least three more movies - Supergirl, Coyote vs. Acme, Clayface
>At least one extra season of television - Lanterns

All while becoming the head of an entire studio, and still having the time to respond to random comments on social media.

I despise his humor and style of writing
It lacks any tact or subtlety and is written from the perspective of a man who never grew out of his adolescent years and hasn’t actually had any meaningful life experience- everything is reference or a joke made to play down serious undertones because the idea of addressing the harshness and cruelty of reality is too much for a mind that is overloaded on drugs and dopamine
