Yeah the crafting system is clearly half baked. The cooking system, while still primitive (why the fuck are dishes made in successions of two ingredients like they're SOUL SKILL [TAG] MEMORY like normal crafting?), is much better.
Alexis straight up admitted the plethora of skills who are functionally identical is a failing of the finished product on their blog iirc, but what I don't understand is why they didn't just add more, non overlapping recipes across different skills, since in any case you can practically finish the game with just what you find in the house so it doesn't really matter if you're locked out of e.g. the Forbidden Epic as long as you have access to Vagabond's map or Wolf-Word.
