Right, it's got nothing to do with /a/ hating it for decades because it was trash.

A lot of us were mad that it just kept regurgitating shit over and over again.
But then many shows since then thought that this was the template to make anime with and so it's become normalised. I hate that.
Especially isekai shows. They are somehow WORSE than this. At least this show gave you a reason for the alt world. In the past shows used to focus on that WAY more and it seems like isekai just blatantly ignores it.

Things like... The Matrix.
I thought Franxx would pull this shit on us more, but it also just fucked about. That was nearly a decade ago now... sigh.
