Wonder Woman works better in publicity art, advertising, covers etc. than in stories, and it so happens that more people will encounter them that way than in comics.
She’s an impossibly beautiful woman with a magic lasso, magic bracelets and an American flag bathing suit. Everyone who sees a drawing of her remembers what she looks like.
There may be superheroes who break this rule but I think like if you make a list of the most famous superheroes, they’re usually heroes who are iconic and memorable in still drawings or even silhouettes. Wolverine, Spider-Man, Batman, Superman tell you everything important about them from the way they pose and their accessories (claws, webbing, utility belt). Wonder Woman can compete with them on that level, that’s why the title sequence of the TV show was based on showing how Lynda Carter looked like a drawing of the character come to life.
Her comic stories aren’t very memorable but that’s not what makes a superhero world-famous.
