Being average is harder as a man, sure, but it doesn't come with only negatives.
E.g. fitting into stuff, finding clothes easier, less back problems, longer health span, extremities more easily managable in sports, less energy and ressource consumption.
And usually the next generation of kids will be taller anyways if you take good care.
So the height issue is definitely a much lower priority than a possible race issue.
Because you can't just fix race in one or even two generations. You can achieve that very realistically being a well groomed manlet if being below average height is the only issue with you as a man.
