Nice delusions. NG4 has the best gameplay and best bosses out of all previous NG games. The vast majority of newcomers won't go back to the previous games, the minority who does will only be interested in the games that have something unique to offer. NG1 has the action-adventure element with the interconnected level/world design and puzzles, so it will attract some. NGII has the insanity it is famous for. Other versions have nothing unique to stand out and will get ignored.
