Runeterra was great, I genuinely believe the game died because they were too generous with its currencies. I ended up spending $20 on it once because I liked that other players saw the board you used, if I'd known the game was at risk of being put into stand-by mode I would genuinely have tossed some extra cash at it. But skins for cards - at the prices they charged - was terrible monetization. The stickers were peak, you could talk to your opponent in real time and it was rarely toxic, I hope future games will steal that system (doubtful).

The PvE game was neat and I didn't mind them putting extra content into the game, but what made me stop playing was how every new hero was just given their own prestige mechanic that their cards interacted with, without any deeper tie-in to the broader library. I don't play LoL, I don't give a shit about each champ's moveset, I want a good TCG. So stop shitting out new mechanics that no other card is ever going to be given again.
