Pokemon design has gone to shit since Sword and Shield. I can still excuse SM because it brought some really good designs like Ribombee, Mimikyu, Golisopod and Nihilego, to mention some, but the ratio bad designs has gotten worse and worse with each passing generation with almost no redeemable Pokemon. SV had the most horrendous starter evolutions in the series and almost all of its dex was terrible. Ironically enough, the Paradox Pokemon were the better ones, and even then the Violet ones were just "old Pokemon but metallic".
