I was posting here at the tail end of the P4K hipster era when things like SXSW mattered (2010-2013), it was actually fun and informative to a teenager just figuring out how to find music on the internet. Most people made memes and jokes that ended up transcending the board and some opinions and stuff that informed wider music culture. Eventually it was all blown out and the origin of things gets forgotten. Also I can't underestimate the outside influence of pol and other boards. It's not like it wasn't a thing prior, but it definitely ticked up at a certain point and hasn't gone down. Also the lack of containment for anything that isn't KPOP is abysmal. WPOP was a direct response the unchecked KPOP spam, but now it's just as bad and even less contained than KPOP is. Now KPOP has become bold and has their own uncontained group threads. No KPOP or WPOP threads are about anything. They need to be contained heavily. It used to be good, I promise.
