It actually amazes me that every enemy they've added has managed to make the game worse. Biovores are annoying at best and run-ending at worst as their infinite spore mines compound on whatever bullshit the game is already forcing you to deal with, but at least Tyranids weren't utterly ruined by their inclusion like the Thousand Sons were with Chaos Spawn. I stopped playing for a while after they added lethal and only over this past month have I gotten back into the game. While I remember the Tyranids being more fun to fight, I still thought Chaos were alright, just not as good. I regularly did Chaos missions just to see something different, but now I absolutely fucking hate doing them. Enlightened Tzaangors don't even warrant a mention when compared to just how badly Chaos Spawn completely fucked up fighting the Thousand Sons.
The bare minimum they could have done to make Chaos more fun to fight would have been to tweak the missile barrage on the soul reaper Terminators so it didn't track so ridiculously well and couldn't be fired more than twice at a time, and certainly not at point blank range. From memory, that was the only major issue Chaos had. If they really wanted to take it a step further, they could have created some analogous mechanic to the Tyranid's synaptic shock, which is a big part of what makes fighting the bugs so much more enjoyable. Instead they shovelled shit upon shit, and now not only can soul reaper Terminators still rape you in the ass with missiles, they are also being protected by a line of meatballs frame trapping you in disjointed attacks. Oh, and by the way, their soul reaper cannon that will shred you in two seconds flat can be fired through the meatballs. Who the fuck approved this shit?
