NTA: I get that all this markup stuff arr rook same, but no fucking way you would convince me that DirectUI (which I believe uses XML for the markup structure) used in the shell is "interpreted JavaScript".
Though MS has goofed with using HTA/DHTML for parts of the shell (including logonui) even further in the cancelled Neptune project. I'll give you that. These were the miserable Active Desktop times.
