8 years to go from 3 runes to 15
2 months of trying to get consistent with MiFi
2 days to get a shapeshifter win
It's almost annoying how few losses it took.
Cheibriados got to full piety and +15 allstats rocked everything. I had the hermet's amulet, as you can see, so I didn't need to invest in invo. Two or three times, I had to dump piety into Slouch in order to damage a big swarm I couldn't otherwise handle. Early game, the cheep cheibriados spell that slows surrounding enemies helped out. I think it might become useless late game, but I don't know, because I stopped using it.
Lesser beckoning is amazing. It pulls summoners to you, and any kind of ranged unit. Even for melee units, this lets you pull enemies into doorways where they will block other enemies. Obviously, it helps cheibri more than most players.
Maw does damage, which is good, but the healing it gives you on kill helped considerably in longer fights.
Water form turned out to be useless, which was weird. Draconians get natural AC which they lose if they use water form, but they keep that AC in maw form.
I'm not sure how one is supposed to use serpent form. Seemed kind of ass, but someone here complemented it earlier.
Dragon form was inferior to maw form for awhile. For just a moment, in zot, it was doing so much damage that the loss of strength and resistances and evasion was worth it. Being able to simply punch an orb of fire a few times and kill it is pretty good.
Storm form hit harder than it needed to and felt cool, but ultimatly everything is worse than a well equipped vampire form, or death form. There was a narrow window where it was useful, and then it went in my back pocket and was never seen again.
Pay no mind to wyrmbane or the alchemist's hat, I got them after clearing tomb, so I just carried them out without using them
48 ev, once I had stats and skill, meant that even strong enemies had like 10% chance to hit.
Damage was ultimately the main defense stat.
