I’ve heard this a few times before, currently what I do as a baseline is flash the enemy sprite to white and fade back from red every time they take damage, enemies also play a sound when they’re hit. Some enemies have specific behavior tied to taking damage, but there isn’t any universal knockback hit reaction for enemies since it’s only really applicable to some of them. Aside from that, I think I’ll implement unique particle effects/sounds for the weapons on successful hits, and on “dud” hits. Is there anything else you think I’m missing?
