Birthrates seem to be a function of carrying capacity, and it's hardly exclusive to the United States. But I do agree that there should be a standard for working wages relative to inflation, average wages have increased, but are relatively stagnant relative to inflation, and this is a problem

I do understand this idea of disillusionment. It's a feeling that many artists have been expressing since the late 70s and early 80s at the very least.
