NTA but I disagree. When I look at GW models I am struck at the sheer amount of superfluous details present. The vast majority of their models are not only bogged down with extraneous detail but it's often further worsened by a lack of clear aesthetic drive. The pinnacle example of this is the Glottkin. It's a very large model and every single part of it's body is covered in all manner of extra details that, while admittedly gross, make it an absolute fucking nightmare to paint and it's aesthetically schizophrenic.
These days I think most of the worst sculptors are on the mainline GW products and the better ones are relegated to side-products like Necromunda, Killteam etc. Even the most mundane of models is bogged down with too many details, some of which are contradictory to the focus of the model. There's a time and a place for wanting a centrepiece model that you spend a lot of time getting extra details on but sometimes, I'd argue even most of the time, less is more.
