Different people made up stories about gods that turned out to be mutually exclusive. Instead of declaring one or both erroneous, they decided they were about separate gods. There's only one golden goddess for me.

I believe in the goddess who appeared in my mind's eye and eventually revealed who she was by affirming my suggestions with pleasant bodily feelings. Like when I was narrowing it down, asked if she was Athena, and felt nothing, then Aphrodite, and there was the warm glow. Imagine ignoring that.
