A drone with props won't survive on a jet plane, that said the idea itself is actually quite sound. Hohols periodically kill themselves trying to intercept drones with APKWS, it's far more economic than a proper as missile but the range is barely 4 km when trying to hit the ground, hitting an aerial target you likely have a km window. Add in the cognitive cost of acquiring a laser lock and maintain it, all at night mind you, makes economic drone interception perilous (granted maintenance cost of using a jet in the first place is also a burden). A drone that is cheap and can automate and thus offload a lot of this cognitive load would be a very attractive option. That said, maybe something more purposefully designed for the task, it is already airborne so you don't need one of this fat interceptor drone that is designed to climb from the ground, and a rocket motor is likely far more sound than a rotor in this case. What's needed is something cheap, poor performance (for aa weaponry), that automates a lot of this task.
