Horror style VN's are good.

Personal recs are:

Raging Loop: Story and gameplay are almost like the social game Werewolf, trying to find a killer among the group each night

Gnosia: Same as above, less story and more interesting setting though. More difficult to beat.

AI Somnium Files: Bit of wack tonally, but cool setting and good use of UI and detective stuff.

Fata Morgana: Unique art style and slow burn with more social and psychological horrors

Non-horror:

Ace Attorney: Huge series, bit silly but good mix of VN and deductive work. Great music
