RBecause its poorly written.
>>Since both the Shortsword and Scimitar are both Light weapons...it just has to be with a second weapon on your "off-hand".
It does not say that.
>Nick also doesn't...has to be one of your attacks.
Correct but irrelevant. If you make an attack with a light weapon, you can make one bonus attack later on your turn. How the bonus attack is made differs depending on if you are using a weapon with the nick property (part of the attack action) or not (as a bonus action)
>Now, you also don't need to declare before hand which of the two is your off-hand weapon
because it doesn't exist
>either just that whatever you attack with the Nick property becomes the off-hand.
Not sure what he was even saying here.
>Also the only stipulation that two-weapon fighting applies is that you don't get to add your str or Dex modifier to the damage roll (unless it's negative)
The other stipulation is that the bonus attack is made with a different weapon. If you are two weapon fighting with a short sword and hand axe and you make an attack using the attack action with your short sword, you cannot make a bonus attack with that same short sword, but you CAN make the bonus action attack with your hand axe, or a different short sword.
>Lastly applying Vex isn't once per turn either,
correct
>just that it only applies to your next attack roll but doesn't prevent you from reapplying Vex.
also correct
>If you just extra attack with the shortsword you pretty much have permanent advantage on that target while it's still alive outside of the first hit.
correct but not relevant to the discussion about light property bonus attack.
RAI, its clear.
>If you make an attack with a light weapon, you can make one bonus attack later on your turn. How the bonus attack is made differs depending on if you are using a weapon with the nick property (part of the attack action) or not (as a bonus action).
