The real issue is 08th MS team's directors can't direct a fight with 60 foot tall robots worth a damn. Mobile Suits are supposed to be, well, mobile but the story wants to treat them like they're tiny Votoms guys. Even Spider-Gour was basically Kanda reusing ideas from the Bounty Dog fight.
