The cool thing about 60-card formats is that you get to see what Magic's mechanics are actually capable of instead of every game having to be constrained by "no icky badfeels" like a preschool teacher, and a deck being able to kill you extremely quickly is something you're expected to counterplay instead of trying to crybully the other player out of doing it
Mechanics like life totals, mana efficiency, and damage clocks actually matter when you can't spend 5 turns jerking off playing mana rocks
