The vast majority of adepts are weaksauce. The only thing most of them have over normal humans is that septima typically makes them naturally stronger, more athletic, and more competent than their non-septimal counterparts (why Eden soldiers are better than Sumeragi, despite Sumeragi soldiers being adults with better training and tech, while Eden soldiers are irregulars all around GV's age). 99% of times, if an adept is killing, it's with guns and bullets, not pocket nukes. Even the powerful ones need weaponization to become one man armies. Very powerful adepts, like GV, Zed, and Zonda are rare.
