I forget a lot of the details but from what I remember korean men started breaking away from traditional roles (somehow) and this made the women ree and overreact in typical female fashion and it just spiraled out of control. For all I know the "breaking away" could have just been something like "hey women should work too instead of staying home all day when there's no children", I really can't say.
But fast forward and now you have men posting pictures of wives/mothers/sisters on porn sites and women talking about aborting their sons because "fuck males" and actually cheering when a nurse purposefully botches a circumcision (which is super common there due to weird american protestant influence).
Then add in normal stuff like how a few companies are responsible for a lot of the wealth of the entire country + asian "face" culture and you have a people who are really, really caring about "reputation" yet are neurotic about it to the point they hold grudges for years.
And then there's the entire thing about how the entire country was ran by a literal cult for a while with help from HILLARY CLINTON, see pic related. It's a wild ride.
