I work at a TESCO Distribution Centre. My calorie burn entirely depends on what task I'll be given for the shift. If my crew (Kestrels) doesn't have priority for loading then it's an entire day spent on picking. Picking involves marching at 4km/h in +1°C for 7¬11h (depends if overtime is approved) while constantly bending over a pallet to pick up boxes and put them in cages. If I'm doing this all day then I can easily count on 4k+ calorie burn by the end of it. The extra 2k on 26/07, 04/08 and 20/08 came from assembling IKEA furniture before going to work. That's what happens if I have a nice busy day with work cut out for me =]
Normally however I do 3 to 4h of pick before I'm called over for loading because Falcons (crews doing the opposite day shift) lost most of their experienced loaders after they've been given severence packages. If my crew has priority for Loading then I'm called over straight away. Loading involves driving around a LLOP all day and picking up 4 filled cages at a time and strapping them inside a trailer. Doing that all day results in 3k¬3.5k calorie burn.
It's funny when I think about it because there used to be a time when I dread spending entire day on pic but now I lowkey hope for it =]
