You answer the question yourself, because it DOES provide an advantage, the idea being if one is kind to "others", the "others" will be kind to them in return... and maximize each others resources. This is why religious people do it too, they just don't want to admit to it for fear of being denied the resources they're after by faking kindness.

Emotional attachment from their parents. Love. If they're not actively bothering anyone, it's not worth destroying them. Humanity can't solve these problems, yet. There are always risks involved with making humans.
Religions want these people to suffer though. I lived through it. I lived through christcucks telling me god wanted me to be a deformed virgin and get made fun of by them, because it was gods plan.
