My first Nintendo console was the Wii. I enjoyed the first party games and was always jealous of the third party selection every other platform owner had. I was the kid that was forced to play The Conduit and pretend it was a revolutionary FPS.
I did my rounds around and became a PC gamer eventually and that's where I've been at ever since.
I think Nintendo makes good games and has made a lot of good games over the years, including plenty of all timers, but I don't see them above everyone else to the point that I am interested in being in their little closed ecosystem. I don't mind playing Nintendo games one, two or even three generations behind.
And nowadays I am more off them than ever because I got tired of open world slop decades ago and a lot of their games are starting to fall for that. The new Zelda games and the new Mario Kart look completely unappealing to me.
