I never was really cognizant of it until visiting this year, but Nevada is incredibly desolate, and incredibly HOT. The kind of heat that saps every drop of moisture from your body. I was chugging water and still pissing dark asf, not very often. It's wild to imagine how a war would be staged in such a desolate, hot, lifeless place. I took a helicopter to the middle of the Grand Canyon after flying over the dam, Fortification Hill, etc. I did not see a single living thing on the plateau I landed on. Not a snake, a bug, a bird, nothing.
