to start off, I am not going to eat it. not risking it for $6 of steak

but im curious. last night, i salted the steak well and then wrapped it in paper towels (it was covered too)
i forgot about it and fell asleep, woke up
and it smelled perfectly fine, in fact, actually good
and the color looks fine, no sliminess or anything

what are the chances that i actually semi dry-aged it and its still safe to eat when cooked?

(again, i will not be eating it, i am not risking food poisoning for $6)
