>China and Vietnam aren't anti-"LGBT" because they are opposed to homosexuality, but rather because it's a competing political movement that disrupts the harmony of their society.
Yeah. It's the same reason they don't like organized religion and keep tabs on it. (There we go again with the distrust of Abrahamism.) The LGBT movement like the churches are kind of like "middlemen" structures. Those governments don't like that stuff, it gets in the way. They want the strong central government to build infrastructure and handle big stuff, but on the other hand, people might actually be more atomized and individualistic at the same time. Chinese are "as loose as dust" I've heard. Anyhow, China doesn't have Pride parades and the cops will prevent those from happening, but the largest gay dating app in the world is a Chinese company and that's your own business. Thailand meanwhile is an international gay vacation and party destination which is a whole other thing that I don't understand but it's completely out of control:

For some reason in every gay neighborhood (or strip of bars) here in the U.S. there's always a popular Thai restaurant plopped right in the middle of it.

I've never heard that. That's funny.
