Superman can't even defeat Lex Luthor. How could he win against the Powerpuff Girls?

It was too stuck in the Silver Age and made too many assumptions about what you already know about Superman. I can understand not wanting to recycle the origin story, but some things like Kryptonite being Superman's weakness just come from nowhere. It's a movie for a specific era of Superman fans, but that era was 50 years ago.
