Right now, from what I see, CoS doesn't play well in the fashion you'd like to. You can get "guns" and mages and keep firing shots by playing LRL. You set up a castle of units to guard your shrine and sentinels and they just fire into anyone who gets near. I got taken to the CLEANERS vs a LRL player who set up like this on Bountiful Equinox.
