They aren't *to that extent* in reality, he's just trying to get clicks. But there's a subset of people who don't pay very close attention and blithely assume the Broncos will be great this season, mainly because they made the playoffs with a rookie QB. They just sort of passively consume that information and assume linear progress to have a take. Upon analysis, of course, one understands that they got lucky to make the playoffs by playing backups, had actually unclutchly failed two weeks in a row before that against the Chargers and Bengals to win-and-in, and got blown out as soon as they stepped foot in the playoffs. All this with a top 3 defense, in a league where when Mahomes wins a game it's because he's "carried by his defense".
I have the Broncos actually finishing last in the division next season, I think these casuals are way off.
