Those still in denial over Nomura being a hack wish this were true, but no. They're identical clones down to the clothes on their backs.

If Nomura always intended for them to be separate and distinct he should have designed them that way, but he didn't. You brought up Vanitas yet anyone with eyes can see how different he is from Sora, the same isn't true for Ventus and Roxas.

Roxas' story literally picks up where Ventus' ends. Ventus' story ends with a damaged heart, no memories, and seeking Sora for help. Roxas' story starts years later with a damaged heart, no memories, and separating from Sora.

Not to mention other foreshadowing throughout BBS like when Ventus meets Lea and quickly becomes friends with him, as well as other Organization Somebodies, and all these interactions end with "we'll cross paths again someday", clearly predestining Roxas joining Organization XIII.

You don't add scenes like this if you want to establish these characters as wholly separate entities.
