Thought I'd repost this here for interest but, I found out yesterday a DC industry artist lives out my way, and does portfolio reviews every month for free at a local comic shop. I went out and met him and nervously showed my work.
>So his first thoughts were that it's hard to really critique or say anything since it's "so it's own thing and world" so any like rule breaking I'm kinda doing doesn't matter since it seems to fit the world I've created. For example, I don't necessarily have very fleshed out backgrounds or great perspective, but it also wouldn't really improve it if it did. He definitely got some laughs, and smiles, but also wasn't too sure on the plot, and isn't super knowledgeable about manga
>The main takeaways I got were, try to make more depth. the bubbles not having tails is a little awkward, and sometimes the bubbles/text are in awkward positions
>Also, I got a firm "no" on asking if I should redraw the 1st book because I hate it hahahha. "Just move forward"
