plus cache to keep wear off the disks or flash
That gives you crazy high performance and low wear
Also, use ECC RAM in your NAS
Otherwise the data being written out can all be trash and there is no validation
My NAS at the house is 16TB of SATA SSD and 64GB of RAM since that's max
The new one is 768 GB RAM and 30 TB NVME
