Boring subject, unnatural posing, poor understanding of anatomy, drab colours, expressionless figure, lack of dynamism/movement etc.

Honestly these are all just classic symptoms of an artist looking to run before they can crawl. Not inherently a sin, after all, practice is how you get better in the first place.You're just always, always better off directing that energy into fundamentals. I do like your colour blocking though.
