Unlike that other anon, I will provide you with actual help and a redline to boot since that other person was too busy sucking themselves off to provide you with a critique that matches your art style. For one, as the other anon said, your work lacks a proper understanding of anatomy. For instance, the hand is way too flat and lacks construction; this is a result of your lack of understanding of form. You are smart enough to know that legs in front of the body go in front of the body, however, you don't know how those basic shapes fall in perspective so I would recommend learning perspective and drawing the body parts in perspective, kinda like how I drew the breasts. Second, I notice your head is a little misshapen. Unironically, I recommend Loomis so you can learn to construct skulls and maybe one day you will be able to draw like me.

The books they use don't really matter, they're just inspiration prompts to them. Most of their techniques are not recorded anywhere but in their completed artworks. It's not the collar bones, it's the lats. They're pretty big. There are also a bunch of other mistakes here most notably the boobs, the left bicep (our right) ends too early, it's really hard to read where the elbows are supposed to be but it's making the humerus look too short, the right humerus looks too long in comparison and the form is kinda vague, the abdominals are bulging too much that the lower obliques aren't really visible anymore, and for some reason it stops just before it reaches the pelvis. The distance between the ribcage and pelvis is just way too big. There's also that weird line below the collar bone that I'm not really sure what it's trying to indicate, you could say the clavicular pecs are too flat? This piece has overall pretty good gesture though.

What it misses the most is a better understanding of anatomy, perspective and posing. Because of this the figure looks flat and unnatural.
I say you are on the right track, you just need more mileage when it comes to fundamentals.

BTW, keep in mind appeal is a subjective concept. Mainstream appeal is definitely a thing, but chasing it can be a hit and miss endeavour. On the other hand fundamentals are quantifiable and objective. It's easier to get proper critique on those.

I'll never understand why some people won't accept that a lot of artistic appeal is inborn, that some people just have a natural prediliction to draw things in a way that more viewers will tend to like. Some seem to act like appeal will just come by way of learning better anatomy, perspective, composition, design principles, color theory, etc etc (and yes, those things can improve your work), but appeal is a separate thing, and one which is extremely hard to "learn" if you aren't born with a natural inclination to draw things appealingly.
You know how you see those anti-progress images which people tend to respond to SOVL VS SOVLLESS? Those can be examples of people with a naturally appealing way of drawing studying hard to make their drawings "right" and overriding their natural ability to draw things with appeal. I think of it like voice acting. Some people have a mediocre natural voice and manner of speaking, and with hard study and practice, can become a decent voice actor with strong technical ability to perform a wide range of characters. Their natural appeal is slightly above average, and their technical skill is high. Then you have people with naturally excellent voices and speaking styles that people just love listening to. These VAs can just use their natural voice for almost every single role, and people never really get tired of it, in fact they squee with delight when they hear them (Morgan Freeman, Patrick Warburton, James Earl Jones).
Then you have the low appeals. Their voices are naturally grating, maybe squeaky, maybe shaky, maybe shrill, maybe it always cracks like they're 13 years old. Whatever the case, these people can try to learn to voice act, and maybe they can master the skill in a technical sense, but the undercurrent of their natural voice remains irritating, no matter how much they try to change it, not matter how well they can act through their voices.

If I had any real advice for you that goes beyond technical skill it's that I try to keep a story in my head whenever I draw. I like to think about what my character would be saying to the viewer. I agree 100% on that. If there's anything I really suck at is composition. I never really studied it and I always just do what FEELS okay. It's definitely one of my biggest shortcomings.
