Alternating days I'd say but it honestly depends on your mood, the season and what you're doing in the gym. Do what feels right.
When I gain weight I jerk it at least every day, sometimes a 2-3 times in a row. Sometimes I'll hit a wall and stop for a few days. On a cut it's probably around every other day.
Don't know how to explain it but just make sure you're actually doing it because you're horny, not because of a habit. Sometimes you have to ask yourself if you actually want to and stop when you realize you don't. Evening is the best because test is mostly secreted while you're asleep so it'll completely level out by morning.
